Lewis County recently issued the following announcement on March 11.

Lewis County announces expanded days of operation at drive-up COVID-19 testing site.

Chehalis, Wash. - Discovery Health MD has announced expanded operations at the drive-up COVID-19 testing site beginning immediately. The site will now be open from Sunday through Saturday (with the exception of major holidays) each week and continues to be at the Lewis County Mall, 151 NE Hampe Way, Chehalis, WA 98532.

The site is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the parking lot at the west end of the Lewis County Mall (next to the old Sears store). While online registration is available and encouraged, it is not required. It is encouraged to bring ID and proof of insurance. However testing is available regardless of ID and/or insurance status.

The lab-based PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test is intended for people with symptoms of COVID-19 or those who have had close contact with someone who has COVID-19, but no one showing up will be turned away. The results are usually available within 24 to 48 hours and are delivered through a secure online portal (notification will be received by e-mail and/or text), making them a convenient and fairly quick option for those in need. Within the portal, guidance is provided for those testing positive and for those exposed to a positive case.

LCPHSS is hopeful additional testing availability will reduce barriers for those seeking testing and provide early detection of potential surges.
