Marilyn Strickland, currently serving as a U.S. Congresswoman representing Washington's 10th district, has recently expressed her concerns through a series of tweets regarding the dismissal of federal employees and community issues in the South Sound area. Strickland, who took office in 2021 after replacing Denny Heck, continues to engage with her constituents via social media.

On March 11, 2025, Strickland tweeted about recent terminations affecting federal employees across the country: "Since January 20, @elonmusk, @POTUS, and @HouseGOP have fired thousands of federal employees across the country. We're feeling that at home in the South Sound. Our community deserves better."

In another tweet on the same day, she acknowledged individuals sharing their personal stories: "Thank you, Jen and Leo, for sharing your story. Fill out this form and share your story too:" She encouraged others to contribute by providing a link to submit their experiences.

Later that day, Strickland expressed frustration with recurring issues by tweeting: "How are we here AGAIN?" This statement reflects ongoing challenges faced by her community.
