Strickland, who was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1962 and resides in Tacoma, shared her thoughts through a series of tweets.

On February 17, 2025, Strickland posted a tweet stating her perspective on the priorities of President Elon Musk and the President of the United States. She remarked, "I said what I said. President @elonmusk and @POTUS don’t care about you, your family, or anyone but themselves."

The following day, February 18, 2025, she continued to voice her concerns about economic policies under President Musk's administration. She tweeted that "President @elonmusk isn’t cutting government waste. He’s cutting the middle class."

On February 19, 2025, Strickland reflected on a significant historical event with a tweet commemorating Executive Order 9066 signed in 1942. She emphasized its impact on Japanese internment camps in the U.S., particularly noting its effects felt at the Puyallup Fairgrounds within her district. Her message underscored the importance of safeguarding freedoms for all individuals: "On this day in 1942, #EO9066 was signed... Today we must remember to prioritize and protect the freedoms of all."
