Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland, representing Washington's 10th district since 2021, recently shared updates via Twitter regarding a community initiative in support of servicemembers. Born in Seoul, South Korea, and currently residing in Tacoma, Strickland has consistently shown commitment to her constituency.

On February 14, 2025, Congresswoman Strickland tweeted about the importance of servicemembers. She expressed pride in the community's efforts to show appreciation from a distance of 5,000 miles. She emphasized this sentiment with the statement: "Our servicemembers matter. I'm proud that our community showed our appreciation from 5k miles away."

Later on the same day, Strickland provided details about a Valentine's Day initiative undertaken by her community. In a tweet posted at 21:25 UTC, she noted that the #SouthSound had created over 5,000 cards and distributed valentines to 95 organizations. Additionally, nearly 500 cards were delivered to troops at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) stationed in Korea. Her tweet acknowledged contributions from various groups within her district: "It's Valentine's Day - and you know what that means..."

In another brief message shared moments later at 21:27 UTC on February 14th, Strickland directed followers to learn more about the #SouthSound cards sent to Korea through an online link: "Learn about #SouthSound cards in Korea."
