Please avoid the area of 7th and Railroad for the next several hours.
On Wednesday, Feb 15, at approximately 0525 hours, Shelton Police Department and Central Mason Fire & EMS responded to a residential fire at 100 W. Pine Street.
Investigators at the scene believed the fire was intentionally set using an accelerant. A person of interest was identified but not immediately located.
Mason County Sheriff Deputies responded to another fire in Union that is believed to be related to the Shelton incident.
Investigators have reason to believe the possible suspect is currently at the Shelton Inn refusing to vacate a room. Officers and Deputies are on the scene developing a plan to take the suspect into custody. Please avoid the area of 7th Street and Railroad Avenue for the next several hours.
