Mia Watson is a first generation student earning her associate degree in Criminal Justice at Centralia College. "My parents had me when they were 18 years old and still graduated high school. They didn’t go on to further their education because they needed to take care of me. Growing up, they tried their best to help me and support me in school and extracurricular activities."

 What advice does Mia have for other #firstgen students? "My advice is to try your best. It will be hard, but I know you can do it. There are many available resources around the school and I would say take advantage of those. Work hard for yourself but also for others."
