Newly elected Lewis County Commissioner Scott Brummer is eager to serve the people of Lewis County. Brummer was sworn into office Wednesday at the Historic Lewis County Courthouse in Chehalis by District Court Judge Wade Samuelson.
“My priority is to be good to my word as a representative of the people of Lewis County, to listen and be involved in the community,” Brummer said. “I look forward to effecting policy for what’s right for citizens, including veterans, seniors and those with property tax concerns.”
Commissioner Brummer, 51, resides in Winlock and has made Lewis County his home for the past 28 years. He and wife Kristine raised three children here and now boasts of their three grandchildren.
“My career with the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife focused on solving problems from flooding, bank erosion, and sustainable timber harvest,” Brummer said. “I am passionate about where we live and passionate about keeping our small-town values that make Lewis County great.”
Brummer holds a Bachelor of Science in biology and has experiences as a farmer, as the owner of a small farm and feed business and as senior pastor of God’s Place church in Ethel. Commissioner Brummer serves District 3 with extensive experience in budgeting, accounting, finance, and regulatory requirements.
Commissioner Brummer succeeds Lee Grose, who was appointed to serve the remainder of the term of Gary Stamper following Stamper’s untimely death.
