City of Lacey recently issued the following announcement on March 5.
2022 marks the 80th anniversary of Executive Order 9066 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt ordering the forcible incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II. Kyle Kinoshita will share the experience of the incarceration and its aftermath through the eyes of Seattle family members. Photos and first-hand accounts help attendees get a glimpse of what life was like during the incarceration, and how redress for this injustice was attained years later.
