Lacey Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement

vent: Homeless Backpacks Haunted 5K 

When: October 30, 2020

Get your costumes ready and join us for a virtual 5k to benefit Homeless Backpacks on Friday, Oct. 30! This is the best kind of 5k, you can run anywhere in the world, on your own time and help feed students in Thurston county! Everyone can participate - all ages, families and you can even include your four-legged family members too!

How to Participate:

2. Pick up your 5k swag bag & participation medal the weekend before the event in Lacey or have it shipped to you ahead of time by adding the shipping option to your online registration.

3. Get your costumes ready!

4. RUN YOUR 5K (3.1 miles) on Friday, Oct. 30

5. BRAG: Share your time, photos and why you support Homeless Backpacks on Facebook, tagging @HomelessBackpacks and use the #HBPHaunted5k

Yes, it's that easy! So don't wait and sign up to have some fun, show off your costume and support a great cause!

The cost to participate is $32 for adults which will cover the cost of weekend food for one student for a month and $8 for kids under 12, that will support a student for a week. Your registration includes a printable bib that will be emailed to you prior to the event, an awesome Haunted 5k drawstring branded backpack and a participation medal.

It wouldn't be a Homeless Backpacks event if we didn't have some surprises up our sleeve to make this event extra special. So pay attention on Facebook and be on the lookout for cool announcements, 5k routes and tips to prepare for the big day!
