Small business owners in Lewis County are one application away from receiving up to $10,000 in COVID-19 grants from the Lewis County Economic Development Council.
The EDC received $100,000 from the Working Washington Small Business Program, according to The Daily Chronicle, and they plan on helping small business owners that are struggling to stay financially afloat while the coronavirus pandemic continues to cripple the local, state, and national economies.
“We look forward to the opportunity to help organizations within Lewis County during these challenging times,”Dan Rich, the chair of the Lewis County EDC told The Daily Chronicle.
Working Washington Small Business grants are funded by the state Department of Commerce and they are working to distribute a total of $10 million in grants throughout the state, using local economic development organizations as a means to reach local entrepreneurs directly, according to The Daily Chronicle.
To qualify for the grants, Lewis County business owners must have no more than 20 employees, be licensed to do business in the state of Washington, and can prove their business has been negatively impacted by the pandemic, according to the Washington State Department of Commerce website.
