AUTOZONE: Update: How Autozone is Responding to COVID-19

Update

Autozone issued the following announcement on March 30

In this time of crisis, we are committed to providing automotive parts and products to first responders, healthcare professionals, automotive repair shops and people who rely on their vehicles to get to the pharmacy or grocery store. From providing automotive batteries, headlights, windshield wipers, brakes and other automotive hard parts, our ability to keep stores open and make sure the motoring public has the essentials it needs to get back and stay on the road is critical.

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, the health, safety and well-being of AutoZoners and customers are our utmost concern. We will continue to closely follow the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as we promote health and safety in our locations while serving the essential needs of our communities.

We have taken the following actions, among others, to promote the health and safety of AutoZoners and customers:

STORE HOURS

Effective March 21st, we temporarily changed the hours of operations for most AutoZone stores. With the exception of our hub stores and mega hub stores, our stores will open at either 7:30 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. Please visit AutoZone.com to check hours of operation for your local store.

FREE IN-STORE SERVICES & DELIVERY

We will continue to provide a range of free services to maintain your vehicle. However, we are requiring AutoZoners to wear gloves and maintain appropriate social distancing when helping customers and performing services in our parking lots. Additionally, we have temporarily restricted AutoZoners from entering the cabins of customers’ vehicles to provide assistance for any reason. Customers, rather than AutoZoners, are permitted to use our equipment for Check Engine Testing.

For customers needing assistance with automotive batteries and testing, we will continue to offer the following complimentary services at no charge:

  • Free Testing: Battery, alternator, starter and voltage regulator
  • Battery Charging: Duralast Fast Charger that can charge your battery for free
As an additional measure to help decrease time in store and reduce physical contact we will continue to provide buy online and pick up in store. We have also temporarily limited the number of customers in stores to no more than ten (10) customers at one time. In addition, starting on March 24th we have launched free Curbside Pickup. Customers can now order online or on our mobile app and have the choice to walk into the store or have their order brought out to their car.

For customers that prefer home delivery, we offer free next day delivery for orders of $35 or more on more than 100,000 items on AutoZone.com.

AUTOZONER SUPPORT

In addition to our existing benefits for AutoZoners, we are providing all part-time and full-time hourly AutoZoners with COVID-19 emergency benefit enhancement in the U.S. and Puerto Rico to help deal with the challenges they may face as a result of COVID-19. This additional bank of hours can be used by our AutoZoners for any reason and for any challenges related to COVID-19. Also, these hours can be used now until the end of the year.

Importantly, we are urging AutoZoners to stay home and seek immediate medical attention if they are or become sick, for any reason at all.
