Welcome to SPSCC from The Office of Student Life! We’ve got a great week for in-person and online activities to welcome (or welcome back) all SPSCC students.

Monday (April 4)

10 am – 2 pm, Welcome Tables in Building 22 – The Office of Student Life’s Student Leaders will be giving away school supplies and answering your questions at our welcome tables. The tables will be set up in the entrances of Building 22.

Tuesday (April 5)

10 am – 2 pm, Welcome Tables in Building 22

12 pm – 2 pm, Stacks Burgers Food Truck in Lot J – Current SPSCC students, staff, and faculty can pick up a ticket on the second floor of The Student Union Building (Building 27) beginning at 8 am on Tuesday, April 5, while supplies last.

Wednesday (April 6)

5 pm – 7 pm, Video Game Night (Open Play) in the eSports Facility (Building 27)

Thursday (April 7)

3 pm – 4 pm, Writing in Spring: The Power of Possibilities on Zoom – Spring is the season of possibilities and growth. In this hour-long workshop, we will explore different techniques for generating creative work, and use the season as a springboard for noticing what is unfurling and growing within ourselves and the world around us. Before the workshop, take a few minutes to observe the outside world near you: a driveway, backyard, balcony, or any other area close to home. Pay attention to your five senses and choose a small item that you can use as a memory-holder for what you discovered during your observation: a rock, twig, leaf, flower, piece of paper or garbage–anything that calls to you. Bring the item to the workshop, and we will use it as a starting point for generating ideas.

Friday (April 8)

5:30 pm – 6:30 pm, Magic Night with Daniel Martin on YouTube – We have teamed up with award-winning magician Daniel Martin to bring you his amazing Magic Night IN, streaming live to you, your friends and family. Daniel is going to pull back the curtain and perform some of his newest, incredible pieces of magic, magic that he created for TV and us! Plus, he is going to teach us how to do some amazing miracles using items most of us have lying around! You will be able to interact with Daniel live and you will be able to ask him questions and even be part of the magic! So, check out the supplies that you should gather up before we go live with Daniel for this fun and special night just for us.
