The Shelton Civic Center will be available as a cooling center for those seeking a respite from the heat forecast for tomorrow.

The Civic Center, located at 525 West Cota Street, will be open as a cooling center from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26. The Civic Center will open immediately following a staff

all-hands meeting.

The cooling center will be located in the main Civic Center lobby. Public bathrooms are available. City staff will be available for assistance, and ensuring appropriate behavior, as

needed. Water will be accessible. Public Internet access is available, as are outlets.

City staff will continue to monitor the weather forecast and will add additional cooling center dates as needed. As a reminder, the Civic Center’s main operating hours are Monday –

Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
