Road Work Alert: U.S. Navy-Highway 3 Seismic Retrofitting on October 3, 2022

0Comments

Beginning Monday, October 3, travelers will experience ongoing traffic disruptions on Highway 3 while the U.S. Navy and their contractor complete seismic upgrades on the trestle

bridge, located north of the Shelton Yacht Club.

Work is scheduled to begin Monday, October 3. While work is going on, SR 3 at the bridge will see changes in traffic patterns including lane shifts, reduction to one-way traffic, and

closure of the southbound road shoulder.

Seismic retrofitting will strengthen the bridge and protect the lives of those who travel on or around it in the event of an emergency.

This project is not being completed by the City of Shelton but will impact Shelton residents. Work is being completed by a private contractor on a state-owned highway.

As we get updates on the project, we’ll share them here.
