On June 19, 2025, Congresswoman Strickland marked Juneteenth by stating “As we commemorate #Juneteenth, one message holds true. Freedom and equality are the right of every American.” She extended a greeting for the holiday with “Happy Juneteenth!”

The following day, June 20, 2025, she highlighted her participation in local events at Stewart Heights Park with the City of Tacoma. She noted that it was “good to spend #Juneteenth at Stewart Heights Park with the @CityofTacoma.” Emphasizing its significance as the fifth anniversary of Juneteenth’s recognition as a federal holiday, she urged continued efforts to support and uplift the Black community.

Later on June 20, 2025, Congresswoman Strickland addressed healthcare concerns in Washington state by criticizing a budget bill proposed by House Republicans. She expressed concern over potential impacts on residents’ access to health services by saying “Thanks to @HouseGOP and their sham budget bill, over 200k Washingtonians are at risk of losing #AppleHealth.” She thanked hospitals, health centers, and advocates for their collaboration in supporting a healthy Washington.
