Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland has recently used her social media platform to address issues related to the anniversary of the January 6th Capitol attack and rising health care premiums in Washington state.
On January 7, 2026, Strickland posted about the commemoration of the events at the U.S. Capitol: “Tonight @HouseDemocrats stood w/ @SenateDems to recognize 5 years since the violent attack on our Capitol, and to thank the brave officers who protected our democracy. The American people will never forget January 6th.” (January 7, 2026)
Later that day, she addressed concerns about increasing health care costs in Washington state: “‘Washington state is expected to see the second-highest premium increase at 41 percent…’ The @HouseGOP doesn’t care about you, your family, or your health care.” (January 7, 2026)
Continuing her focus on health care affordability, Strickland urged legislative action: “There is still a chance to lower health care costs TODAY. @SpeakerJohnson, do the right thing.” (January 8, 2026)
Marilyn Strickland was elected as a Republican to represent North Carolina’s 28th House district in 2017 after succeeding James Langdon Jr., although she now serves as a Congresswoman.
