Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland recently highlighted her ongoing efforts to support local businesses, military families, and community partnerships in a series of posts on social media.

On August 5, 2025, Strickland emphasized the economic and environmental importance of the Puget Sound region. She wrote, “The Puget Sound supports many local businesses including @taylorshellfish, a 5th generation family-owned farm growing oysters, clams, and other shellfish that ship across the world. As Co-Chair of the Puget Sound Recovery Caucus, I will continue prioritizing the health of the”.

Later that day, Strickland addressed her advocacy for military families. In a post made at 21:36 UTC on August 5, she stated, “Supporting military spouses means lowering barriers and helping them access the support they need. Learn how I’m fighting to expand FMLA eligibility with @RepDonBacon:”.

On August 6, Strickland shared her participation in a community event focused on public safety. She posted at 13:47 UTC: “Last night we celebrated another #NationalNightOut in the #SouthSound! Glad I got to spend some time with the City of Fircrest and show our support for the partnership between local police, first responders, and the community.”

Marilyn Strickland serves as Co-Chair of the Puget Sound Recovery Caucus and has been active in promoting both environmental stewardship and community engagement within her district. National Night Out is an annual event aimed at strengthening relationships between residents and law enforcement agencies across communities in the United States.
