Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland, representing Washington’s 10th district, has expressed her concerns over recent developments in public education through a series of tweets. Strickland, who succeeded Denny Heck in 2021, is vocal about the implications of policy changes on students nationwide.

On March 20, 2025, Strickland shared a link for further information: “Learn more: https://t.co/c42H31doOF https://t.co/lKnK6TilPY”.

Later that day, she tweeted her apprehensions regarding potential threats to the public education system by prominent figures: “This is what I’ve been talking about. @elonmusk and @POTUS are looking to destroy the public education system and remove access from millions of students.”

In another tweet on the same day, Strickland criticized cuts to the Department of Education and their perceived impact: “You’re missing a ‘t’ btw. They just cut the Department of Education, and clearly @elonmusk is already impacted. Laughing while him and @POTUS harm millions of children – disgusting.”
