Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland has recently shared a series of posts on her social media account, addressing national security legislation, commemorating the September 11 attacks, and highlighting local infrastructure improvements.
On September 10, 2025, Strickland criticized the House GOP and Speaker Johnson for their handling of a defense bill. She stated: “Once again the @HouseGOP and Speaker Johnson poisoned a bipartisan defense bill that had a 55-2 vote out of committee. Their hyper-partisanship will hurt servicemembers, their families, and military readiness.”
The following day, September 11, Strickland marked the anniversary of the September 11 attacks with a message honoring victims and first responders. She wrote: “Today, we mourn the lives lost during the 2001 attacks on our nation. We can never forget our heroic first responders and fallen loved ones. #NeverForget https://t.co/tgGIO9mDUU”
On September 12, she participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Sheffield Trail in Fife, Washington. In her post about the event, she noted: “I joined @fife_washington at Sheffield Trail, cutting the ribbon on renovations! Our communities must be safe and accessible – that’s why I #deliveredfortheSouthSound, securing $800K to widen the path, restore local vegetation, increase visibility, and make our home more https://t.co/MrZ8E5cBM2”
Marilyn Strickland was elected to public office in 2017 as a Republican representative for North Carolina’s 28th House district.
