Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland, representing Washington’s 10th district, has recently shared her views on several pressing issues through her social media account. She has been outspoken about various topics ranging from military leadership to parental rights in Congress and significant events in the Senate.

On April 1, 2025, Strickland called for the termination of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth with a pointed message, “.@SecDef Hegseth needs to be fired. Immediately.” She directly tagged prominent media personalities and linked a discussion related to this demand.

Later on the same day, Congresswoman Strickland criticized the House GOP’s policies, describing them as contradictory to their proclaimed values. She tweeted, “The @HouseGOP, the ‘pro-life’, ‘pro-family’ party, will not let parents with newborns proxy vote. How does that make sense?”

In another post on April 1, 2025, Strickland praised Senator Cory Booker for his lengthy Senate floor speech, stating, “.@SenBooker is a fellow former mayor, fellow @TheBlackCaucus Member, and just broke the record for the longest floor speech in the Senate. Republicans, this is how you fight for the American people.” Her remarks highlight her support for Booker’s dedication to political discourse.
