Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland, representing Washington’s 10th District, has taken to social media to share her legislative initiatives and community support efforts. The tweets from February 19 and 20, 2025, highlight her dedication to honoring historical contributions, enhancing food security, and supporting sustainable agriculture.

On February 19, Congresswoman Strickland announced her intention to introduce legislation recognizing the legacy of Buffalo Soldiers. “For nearly 90 years, 40k Buffalo Soldiers fought to protect our freedoms and ideals, even as they faced discrimination as Black Americans. Today, I’m introducing legislation to honor their legacy.”

Later that day, she expressed her commitment to addressing food insecurity by supporting local initiatives. “No one should go hungry. @goodrootsnw is working hard to increase food access for communities, including in #WA10. Proud to #deliverfortheSouthSound and support their locker expansion to Pierce College with $740K.”

On February 20, Strickland emphasized the importance of federal agencies in supporting agricultural projects through funding for renewable energy installations. “I think we can all agree – eggs are important. That’s why federal agencies like @USDAgov remain critical. Happy to see that @ThurstonCounty’s The Egg Lady is receiving over $24K to install solar panels on her farm and continue #deliveringfortheSouthSound.”
