U.S. Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland of Washington’s 10th District recently took to social media to express her views on various legislative and social issues. Strickland, who has served in Congress since 2021, addressed the implications of certain tariffs and shared her legislative initiatives and perspectives on American history.
On March 28, 2025, Strickland commented on the impact of tariffs, stating, “Consumers are the ones who will feel the weight of the Trump tariffs.”
Later that day, Strickland focused on reproductive care, introducing new legislation. As part of the initiatives during #WorldDoulaWeek, she announced the introduction of the Abortion DOULAS Act, alongside Rep. Gwen Moore, stating, “Women deserve support in their reproductive care experience. That’s why this #WorldDoulaWeek, I introduced the Abortion DOULAS Act with @RepGwenMoore.”
In another tweet, Strickland addressed cultural issues pertaining to historical representation. She criticized efforts against the National African American Museum, asserting the importance of Black History in American history, as seen in her remark, “The National African American museum is not ‘improper ideology’ or ‘divisive narratives’. Black History is U.S. History. This is another attempt by @POTUS to silence diverse voices.”
