Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland has recently highlighted her engagement with veterans, housing development, and local agriculture in a series of posts on her official Twitter account.
On August 10, 2025, Strickland wrote, “Those who have served our country deserve our support. I appreciate meeting with the National Association for Black Veterans and sharing how the federal government can and must do better to ensure our veterans get the benefits they’ve earned.”
The following day, August 11, 2025, she addressed efforts to address housing needs in the South Sound region. In her post, Strickland stated, “Black developers like 1Drop are building the housing that the #SouthSound needs, including bringing over 60 senior housing units to the @CityofLakewood and more. As we fight the housing crunch at home, our local, state, and federal partnerships remain crucial to supporting”.
On August 12, 2025, Strickland shared her visit to a local farm: “Visited Sterino Farms and got to rep Mount Tahoma! A multi-generational farm, Sterino Farms has served the @PuyallupGov and @PierceCo communities for years. In the face of growing uncertainty, we must continue supporting our local producers and farmers. #SouthSoundGrown”
Marilyn Strickland was elected as a Republican to represent North Carolina’s 28th House district in 2017 after succeeding James Langdon Jr., according to available records.
