Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland recently used her social media platform to highlight issues of inequality in STEM fields and the importance of local agriculture in supporting regional economies.
On August 8, 2025, Strickland wrote, “Women and minorities across STEM fields often face obstacles and inequality. That’s why I’m working to ensure that high-wage STEM jobs are more accessible to historically under-represented communities.”
The following day, on August 9, 2025, she posted about the significance of agriculture in her region’s economy: “Local agriculture is one of many pillars supporting our diverse regional economy. @WSUPuyallupREC is supporting farmers through research and innovation. Thank you, WSU, for bringing us together to discuss ways the federal government can continue to support our local producers.” In a subsequent post on the same day, Strickland shared a link with the simple caption: “Read: https://t.co/qTd06TXqgq https://t.co/F72MamQqbF”
