Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland recently shared a series of posts on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, addressing economic policy decisions, local business contributions to national security, and ongoing community engagement with youth organizations.

On August 14, 2025, Strickland criticized the current administration’s economic strategy. She wrote, “This is what happens when @POTUS takes a sledgehammer approach to managing the economy. Our most vulnerable communities become victims.”

The following day, August 15, 2025, Strickland highlighted the role of local businesses in the broader economy after visiting a Tacoma-based company. She posted, “Local businesses play a big role in shaping supply chains and our national economy. It was good to visit the Homeostasis team at their Tacoma facility and hear how they’re working to meet our national security needs. #SouthSoundMade”

On August 16, 2025, Strickland reflected on her long-standing connection with Boys and Girls Clubs during a visit to a local branch. She stated, “Spent some time with the kids at @BGCSPS, a club I joined when I was 10 years old! It’s good to see Boys and Girls Clubs still serving our community. I will always fight for a safe, healthy future for children across the country.”

Marilyn Strickland was elected as a Republican representative to North Carolina’s State House in 2017 for District 28, succeeding James Langdon Jr.
