Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland, a representative known for her active engagement on various issues through social media, recently addressed several key topics in a series of tweets. These tweets highlight her focus on aviation safety, student nominations to service academies, and criticism of recent legislative actions affecting Medicaid and Social Security.

On June 4, 2025, Congresswoman Strickland emphasized the importance of aviation safety by stating that it is “top of mind across the country.” She stressed the significance of hearing directly from pilots about maintaining traveler safety. “Aviation safety is top of mind across the country, and it’s important to hear from our pilots first hand on ways we can continue keeping travelers safe.”

Later that day, Strickland expressed pride in nominating students for the nation’s service academies. She noted her honor in having 14 students begin their journey in serving the country this year. “Every year, it is an honor to nominate students for our nation’s service academies. This year, I am proud to have 14 students who are taking their first steps in serving our country.”

In another tweet posted on June 4th as well, Strickland criticized a bill pushed through by President Biden and House Republicans. She highlighted Elon Musk’s criticism of the legislation that affects Medicaid and Social Security while suggesting that even billionaires recognize its negative impact on Americans. “Now even @elonmusk is criticizing the bill that @POTUS and @HouseGOP pushed through… They gutted #Medicaid and #SocialSecurity for the billionaires, but even they know it’s wrong for the American people.”
